Audio/Video Converter

Convert between MOV/MP4/MP3/WAV and strip audio from video.

How it works

Convert between common audio and video formats — MOV to MP4, WAV to MP3, or extract/strip audio from a video — right from this page, powered by FFmpeg.

  1. Drop an audio or video file onto the upload area, or click to select one.
  2. Choose a conversion preset (e.g. .mov → .mp4, strip audio from video).
  3. Click Convert — the first run loads the ~30MB conversion engine, so it takes longer than subsequent conversions.
  4. Download the converted file once processing finishes.

Common use cases

  • Converting a .mov screen recording to .mp4 for compatibility with a video editor or upload form.
  • Extracting the audio track from a video file as an MP3.
  • Stripping audio entirely from a video to create a silent background loop.
  • Converting a WAV recording to MP3 to shrink file size before sharing.

FAQ

Why does the first conversion take so long?
The tool loads an FFmpeg WebAssembly engine (~30MB) the first time you convert something on this page. Once loaded, subsequent conversions in the same session are much faster.
Is there a file size limit?
Very large video files can be slow or memory-intensive to process — for large batch conversions, a dedicated desktop tool will generally be faster.
What formats are supported?
The listed presets cover the most common conversions (MOV/any video → MP4, WAV/any audio → MP3, and audio extraction/stripping). Support depends on the underlying FFmpeg build's codecs.
